Io is the third largest moon of Jupiter and is home to just 6500 humans. First colonized in 2074 as a temporary research lab, Io would eventually become the first spice colony in the Solar System. Io is an independent internally governed society, but tends to side with the Jovian League. There are no known Sapient2 colonies on Io likely due to it's high volatility.
